The project prepared by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), which aims to increase the awareness of healthy living and technology use among students in village schools, has been granted support from TÜBİTAK.

The project titled “Healthy Living and Conscious Technology Use Workshops in Village Schools,” prepared by the MAKÜ Addiction Struggle Coordination, has been accepted under TÜBİTAK’s 4009-Support Program for Village Schools. The project will meet with students from Kocaaliler Middle School in Bucak district of Burdur.

The project aims for middle school students to develop healthy living habits, gain awareness in technology use, and strengthen their attention skills. In activities conducted with a scientific discovery-based learning approach, students will participate in many practical activities ranging from movement and pulse experiments to brain model examinations, and from attention and reflex studies to healthy decision-making games.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevinç Sütlü and Lecturer Özge Kutlu will lead the project, and the workshop activities will be carried out using interactive methods that emphasize active participation of students. Thus, it is aimed for students to learn while having fun and to acquire knowledge and skills that they can use in their daily lives.

The project also aims to raise awareness about technology addiction, contributing to children's critical thinking, attention development, and acquisition of healthy living behaviors. This study will bring the scientific learning experience to students in village schools while also supporting the dissemination of protective and preventive activities, contributing to the academic and social development of students.
